Mobile Complex Litigation AttorneyMargaret McDowell Miller was born in Birmingham, Alabama and attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, where she graduated from the Honors Program cum laude in 1998. Margaret graduated from the University of Alabama Law School in 2001. Margaret is licensed in state and federal courts of Alabama and Mississippi, in addition to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida. The majority of her practice is concentrated in civil litigation both at the trial and appellate level, with her main focus being complex litigation and business law. Margaret has prosecuted and defended complex litigation related to corporate disputes. Most recently, she and co-defense counsel successfully defeated two attempts to certify a class in a legal malpractice class action lawsuit related to the Fen-Phen Class Settlements. Professionally, Margaret is a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute (DRI), American Bar Association, Alabama and Mississippi State Bar Associations and Mobile Bar Association (Treasurer, 2007); Law Day Committee Chairperson, (2006). She is also active in the Junior League of Mobile, chairing the Wilmer Hall Independent Living Program this past year and the Foster Family Program in 2006-2007. In addition, Margaret sits on the Boards of the Western Shore Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association and Dog River Clearwater Revival. She is also a co-founder of the Gulf Fisheries Alliance, an alliance of both commercial and recreational fishermen dedicated to the health of the Gulf of Mexico. |
